OUR SERVICES

  • For Students: CAPS provides FREE, confidential, psychological counseling and crisis services for registered UCSD students. CAPS also provides a variety of groups, workshops, and drop-in forums. For more information, please visit our Services page.

SHOULD I COME TO CAPS?

YES!
  • No problem is too small or big. If it affects you, then it matters to us. Common student concerns include stress, anxiety, sadness, relationship difficulties, and sleep problems.
  • If you find yourself feeling increasingly sad or upset, withdrawing from others, grades slipping, sleeping more, or feeling less interested in things, come to CAPS.
  • If you are thinking about suicide, or harming yourself or others, contact CAPS immediately.
  • If you think you may be experiencing depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues, you can take an anonymous Online Assessment.

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

  • Call (858) 534-3755 to schedule an appointment.
  • For urgent or crisis matters, please call (858) 534-3755 and ask to speak to the urgent care psychologist.
  • If you are thinking about suicide, or harming yourself or others, contact CAPS immediately at (858) 534-3755.
  • During non-business hours and holidays, crisis counseling is available at (858) 534-3755 (select Option 2).
  • For life-threatening emergencies, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.
