Campus Resources

We at CAPS strive to work together with the UCSD community. Below is a listing of various campus resources for students, faculty, and staff at UCSD.  You can scroll through to find the resource, or you can click on the links below to go directly to your resource:

 

Health & Wellness

 

Campus Recreation.  Get fit, have fun, meet new people . at UCSD Recreation.  Get information on campus recreation classes, teams, wellness programs, outback adventures, aquatics, and recreation facilities.  All this and more is yours . at UCSD Recreation.

Counseling and Psychological Services.  Growth, Strength, Harmony - we strive to assist students in meeting these goals.  CAPS provides psychological counseling for students, as well as outreach, peer education, and consultation for the UCSD community.

Student Health Service.  Visit the Student Health Center's (SHS) "apple" for information about student health related matters.  Information about services, hours, appointments, and student health insurance are provided at the website.  Programs on nutrition, wellness, and student health advocate peer education are also offered at SHS.

UCSD Hospitals.   This link provided information about the UCSD Thornton and Hillcrest hospitals.  Hospital services, emergency room services, programs, and other health related information are provided at this site.

 

Diversity

 

Center for Ethics & Spirituality.  The Center for Ethics & Spirituality provides students the opportunity to meet, consult, and engage in programming with spiritual leaders from the community.  The membership is currently comprised of the Newman Center Catholic Community at UCSD, Hillel, and Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, the University Lutheran Community, and the Wesley Foundation.  You can reach them at (858) 534-2521.

Cross Cultural Center.  The "CCC" offers programs and services that facilitate the academic, professional, and personal development for students, faculty, and staff who are members of historically underrepresented groups.  The CCC also provides programs to foster experiences and discussions of issues related to the creation of a multi-ethnic, culturally-conscious University.

International Center.  This office provides services and programs for UCSD's large international and general student population.  They also house the California Education Abroad Office (EAP), our own oversees resource center (OAP), and a non-profit, cooperative nursery school.

LGBT Resource Office.  The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Resource Office at UCSD is a diverse, open, and public space for all members of the University community to explore issues relating to sexual and gender identities, practices, and politics.

Women's Center.  The Women's Center provides services and programming that address women's issues and diversity.  Check out what the Women's Center has to offer!

 

Student Safety and Legal Services

 

Campus Police.  This link provides information about UCSD campus police, services, and programs.  Campus police supervise CSO's (campus student officers).  Campus police can be reached from a number of direct-line emergency boxes located on frequently traveled walkways - look for the big yellow boxes with a red light on top.  If you are experiencing an emergency that needs immediate assistance, please call "911" or (858) 534-HELP.

Escort Services.  Escort services are provided by UCSD campus police.  You can arrange for a CSO escort by calling (858) 534-WALK.

Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention & Policy.  What is sexual harassment?  What should I do if I believe I am being sexually harassed?  Can I get advice without filing a complaint?  Talk to OSHPP for solutions.

Student Legal Services.  This office provides legal consultation and assistance in understanding discipline procedures, legal issues, and other legal-related matters.

Student Safety Awareness.  Student Safety Awareness provides assistance and support for students who have been victims of assault.  They can provide you with information about your rights, as well as legal matters as they relate to assault.  They also offer education and programming on safety, assault, alcohol and drug issues/prevention, and health related issues.

Triton Taxi.  Need a safe ride home?  Triton Taxi provides free transportation for students who are in need of assistance.

 

Housing & Dining

 

Dining Services.  Hungry?  What's on today's menu?  How late is Sierra Summit open 'til?  Answers to all your dining questions and needs are at this site. 

Housing.  This site has information for campus, off-campus, graduate, and family housing.

 

Financial Services

 

Student Business and Financial Aid Services.  This link provides information on the Financial Aid, billing, student load administration, and other financial-related matters.  You can also get your student identification card from this office.

 

Academic & Career Services

 

Academic Advising.  Each College provides academic advising to students.  Academic Advising provides assistance with academic courses, registration, scheduling, and degree progress.  They can answer common questions such as:  Should I take that extra Biology course?  Have I met all my General Education requirements?  Am I on track to graduate?

Career Services .  What do you want to do when you graduate?  What do you want to do while you're here at UCSD?  This department offers a vast array of career-related services: career advising, workshops, testing, interviewing skills, graduate and professional school preparation/application ,  job-hunting, and campus employment.

Office of Graduate Student Research (OGSR).  This site provides all types of information for those students currently in a graduate program at UCSD or for prospective students who need tips on degrees/programs offered, how to apply, etc. Here you will also find information about research, fellowships, and academic employment opportunities, as well as, tips about tuition and fees, and graduate student life in San Diego!

Education Abroad Services.  Should you go to France?  Japan?  England?  What are the requirements to study abroad?  Get answers and other information about study abroad programs from this website.

Libraries.  Did you know that the UCSD library owns over 2 million books, journals, and databases?  Search databases and catalogs, reserve books and journals, and get information about other library services at the UCSD Library site.

OASIS.  OASIS provides an array of services to assist students in their academic endeavors - tutoring, programming, and outreach programs to assist underrepresented student populations.  If you haven't checked out OASIS, you'll be missing something special!

Registrar's Office.  Have you registered yet?  Get information about registration, classes, and enrollment status at the Registrar's Office.

General Student Services

 

Child Care.  The Child Care office provides information about child care services, availability, and costs for students, faculty, and staff.  There are two childcare facilities on campus.  The International Co-op Nursery School , and the UCSD Early Childhood Education Center .

Office of the Ombuds.  The Ombuds Office provides dispute resolution services and consultation to the UCSD community (students, faculty, and staff).  Services are confidential and neutral.

Office for Students with Disabilities.  This office provides resources and services for students with disabilities to assist them in their academic and social adjustment to UCSD.  OSD supports students in becoming self-advocates in their on- and off-campus communities through the coordination of access to campus programs, services, and facilities.

Student Office of Human Relations.  This office provides support and consultation for any student who has experienced or has concerns about hate/bias related crimes or incidents, and complaints of unlawful discrimination.  SOHR also provides programs related to human/race relations, cultural pluralism, and hate/bias prevention education.

University Center

 

Bookstore.  A link to the UCSD Bookstore and all its departments:  textbooks, general books, medical books and instruments, computers and software, supplies, gifts, and clothing.

Box Office.  What's playing this weekend?  How much does it cost?  The UCSD box office provides Ticketmaster services for both University and non-University events.  Tickets for attractions and amusement parks are also sold at the Box Office.

Computer Services.  Get information on computer prices, software, and technical assistance at the Bookstore Computer Store.

Price Center.  Movies, shows, food, entertainment, post office, and . flowers!!! - it's all here at the Price Center.  Get the "411" on all the happenings at the hub of UCSD.

Student Center.  The older sibling of the Price Center - there's food, campus information centers, the Bike Shop, note-taking services, off-campus housing, the Guardian, A.S. soft reserves, legal services, and other great services at the UCSD Student Center.

University Events.  Did you know that UCSD hosts excellent performing arts and cultural programs?  See what's happening with musicals, performances, and lectures at UCSD this week and next!

 

Athletics

 

Athletic Department.  This link provides information, rosters, and schedules on UCSD's Division II intercollegiate athletic program.  Get involved with Triton Athletics!

 

Campus Services

 

Post Office.  A real post office at UCSD!  You can run all your mail-related errands without even leaving campus!

Parking & Transportation.  This website provides information about parking and transportation services at UCSD.  Information on parking passes, shuttles, bus passes, vanpools, and alternate forms of transportation are available at this site.

Travel Services.  In the Price Center you will find "Council Travel," a student-oriented travel agency offering a wide variety of travel-related services.  Plan your next trip with them!

 

Colleges

 

Revelle College.  Did you know that Revelle is the the first College at UCSD?.  With a long history of student leadership, academic excellence, and student services, Revelle provides a complete college package!  Check out information about the College and its programs, services, faculty, and staff.

Muir College.  Muir College embraces the independent spirit of the UCSD student.  With its wide array of services and student organizations, from stitching to movie-making, Muir has just about everything for anyone!  Come see what Muir has to offer!

Thurgood Marshall College.  Formerly Third College, TMC is committed to diversity, service, and community in its spirit and curriculum.  Loaded with opportunities for participation and leadership, TMC offers many rewarding experiences for students.

Earl Warren College.  Warren College is one of the largest Colleges at UCSD.  Warren College offers a wonderful combination of academics, social activity, and diversity.  The College provides a vast array of leadership and public service opportunities.  Come get involved!

Eleanor Roosevelt College.  ERC embraces diversity at all levels of learning and experience.  The Making of the Modern World (MMW) academic sequence, the International House, and diverse programming and leadership opportunities are examples of this commitment.

Sixth College.   The newest of the Colleges, 6th College embraces the combination of arts, technology, and diversity.  Though they are the newest College, they are not short on programming, student organizations, and leadership opportunities.  Come check it out!

 

Student Administration

 

Associated Students.  The Associated Students Council, comprised of appointed and elected positions, including representatives from each College and class, share the responsibility of governance of the University with the campus administration and the Academic Senate.

 

University Administration

 

Chancellor's Office.  The Chancellor's Office website offers extensive information about the Chancellor, projects, fund-raising campaigns, and invites feedback from students, faculty, and staff.

Office of the UC President.  The Office of the UC President website offers information about issues and recent happenings within the UC-system, projects, admissions, and links to the other UC campuses.

Student Affairs.  Get information about the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, student affairs planning and projects, and all departments within Student Affairs at this website.  Feedback from students is welcome!  Links to various campus departments are also provided.
