Continuing Education at CAPS
Paul Lee, MD, presenting on Psychopharmacology, September 2006
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) regularly offers continuing education courses for psychologists and other mental health professionals. Psychologists are required to accumulate 36 hours of continuing education for each licensing cycle (every 2 years). Psychologists are required to take 4 continuing education hours of Law and Ethics for each cycle. For those who wish to provide clinical supervision, 6 continuing education hours in Supervision are required for each cycle. CAPS is a provider for the Mandatory Continuing Education Program Accrediting Agency (MCEPAA), and provides programs for both these requirements regularly.
Past CEU's have included: Legal and Ethical Issues; Ethics in Supervision; Motivational Interviewing; Multicultural Supervision; Critical Incident Stress Debriefing; Psychopharmacology; Suicide Prevention & Intervention; The Art & Science of Clinical Supervision; and Hypnosis.
